CONFIDENCE and stability are being established with national institutions such as the Parliament, Southern Highlands Governor William Powi says.

Powi told Parliament last Friday that as a first-term MP, he was impressed with the confidence and stability that was established in Parliament and in Government.

“I want to congratulate and commend you, the Speaker (Theo Zurenouc), for establishing confidence and maintaining the integrity of the Parliament after being abused as we have observed from the outside,” he said.

“The Parliament has reintroduced the parliamentary committees and they are working well.

“We have seen a lot of legislations being passed. We have seen a lot reports in Parliament being presented for Parliament to scrutinise and these are signs that things are working as they are supposed to.

“I also commend the Prime Minister for providing the leadership, his ministers and the members of Parliament for creating stability and confidence in governance and in our institutions.

“We also have macro economical stability with many investors willing to invest in the country.”
