POLICE in Northern have warned people planning to travel to take weather updates seriously.
Provincial police commander Supt Michael Welly said the province was also experiencing strong winds at sea like other parts of the country.
“Passengers travelling for business or going out to fish must take precaution,” he said.
Welly said a police unit was covering the waters at the border of Morobe and Milne Bay.
“Those who live close to the sea must take advice seriously. If it is rough at sea, don’t take the risk. If it means for you to stay and not travel, you must do so rather than get into danger.”
