Papua New Guinea Power is working towards getting its product right and providing reliable supply of power to the rest of the nation, executive director John Mangos says.

“Our aim is to get the product right, and moving forward, we will be open, if we make a mistakes we apologise,” Mangos told The National.

“We won’t be out doing sponsorships or advertising because we need the money to be spent on getting the product right.

“Once we have the right product, it will sell itself,” he said.

Mangos said, PNG Power Ltd (PPL) at the moment needed to make sure that the supply of power was available and reliable.

“We do need to do a lot of work internally to get things right, we are lining up ourselves from where we attend to about 300 to 400 customers a month,” Mangos said.

“The backlog is only 300 to 400 customers, our call centre has gone live across the country.

“They are now taking all the requests for connections.

“From there we are generating the lead list to go and connect everyone.

“To get that working properly we are now going through a spares holding, to generate the number of people to be connected and change the process to make sure we are connecting everybody,” Mangos said.
