PPL installs Easipay in Oro

Normal, Papua

PNG Power is striving to improve its service in Popondetta Town with an Easipay rollout programme.
Preparations are underway for procurement and shipping of materials for the rollout of Easipay in the town by April.
PNG Power said in a statement that two generators were commissioned in January for the rollout and this has boosted the town’s generation capacity to cope with higher demand and for new consumers.
The power station now has four generators operating with a new generator expected sometime this year.
Power system improvement works have also been carried out on power lines, poles, transformers and other equipment.
Works included new substation transformers that were installed in January while another was relocated to the new City Pharmacy building in town.
These installations plus future works on line equipment should provide a reliable system control and protection.
Rehabilitation work will start on the 1.3km line on the Northern Highway. There are 65 consumers along this line waiting for power supply to be connected to their homes and PPL is speeding up the delivery of service.
