Praise for authority

THE National Fisheries Authority (NFA) has been praised for supporting local fish farmers.
Andrew Timb, owner of ASK fish farm at Ketakori in the Dei electorate, Western Highlands, said the support given to the local farmers would go a long way towards their success.
Timb, who was one of the farmers to receive K20,000 from the NFA project support grant, said his colleagues had a vision to make and create wealth through their farms.
He said fish farming was new, especially in parts of the Highlands, and he saw that there was a potential in it.
Timb said some of them had thousands of fish in their ponds and they were looking for markets.
“This is the way forward for those of us who have received the support from NFA.
“The funding that we received is now put into good use like fencing and purchasing of other material to extend and develop the ponds.”
