Praise for Chimbu governor’s plan to bring back flights

Letters

THE proposed plan by Chimbu Governor Michael Dua to bring back major airline flights back into the province reflects the
kind of leadership that can look beyond the unseen in terms of human needs and wants situation.
Chimbu is one of the provinces that leads in human resources that help in the development of other provinces not only in PNG but also in some parts of the Continents.
Chimbu itself should developed longtime a go in terms of Infrastructure development regardless of geographical location because it had best engineers that can deal with Land structures/ building structures issues.
I think it will be more geographical convenient if the Governor with all concerned agencies of government and private citizens can come with an understanding by proposed Kerowagi old airstrip to reopen.
It can cater for both Air Niugini and Airlines PNG to land and
take off once they extend the airstrip.
The current airstrip at Kundiawa is not in good settings because the runway is too short and can cause pilots to make panic landing and takeoff that can sometimes results in crash landing.
Reason out the risks and consequences between Kundiawa and Kerowagi.
