Praise for Lae Customs hub
The National, Monday July 28th, 2014
MOROBE Governor Kelly Naru has hailed Customs PNG for recognising Lae as the country’s industrial hub.
Naru spoked that at the Customs business consultative forum in Lae last week, themed “Communication-Sharing information for a better corporation”, which was well-attended by representatives from the private sector.
He said CPNG was an integral part of the government’s business in service delivery and has really aided the government’s coffers since breaking away from Internal Revenue Commission, and Lae as the industrial hub, is centrally located and such forum must continue as it is important to draw the different stakeholders together.
“I strongly urge you to continue this dialogue. Your office in Lae is going to be the busiest office in Papua New Guinea once the Lae tidal basin project and the super highway projects gets off the ground because of bustling activities,” he told Customs Commissioner Ray Paul.
