TWO promoted military officers have thanked the Government for having trust and confidence in them.
Captain (Navy) Philip Kaski Polewara said his promotion would be meaningful if he could translate it in what he could for the defence force and the people.
“I want to thank the Government and the defencecouncil for having the trust and confidence in me and also my family who have to endure living without me during my maritime career days,” Polewara said.
Polwara has held senior positions at the military headquarters at Murray Barracks.
His latest post was as commandant of Lae.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy Management from the University of PNG and Masters of Liberal Arts majoring in International Relations from Slave Regina University, Newport, Rhode Island, USA.
He is also Chief of Training – PNGDF.
Colonel Alfred Kayoka has been appointed as chief of plans.
