Port Moresby Nature Park celebrated its sixth birthday on Saturday.
General manager, Michelle McGeorge said the success of the park was due to the passion and commitment of the staff and they should be proud of the legacy they were building for future generations.
“Thanks to NCD Governor Powes Parkop for his vision to build Nature Park and to NCDC management along with the business community for assisting in funding park projects and major partners ExxonMobil, Red Sea Housing, The National, MDF and UNDP,” McGeorge said.
On June 16, 2012, the National Capital District Commission launched Port Moresby Nature Park, with the vision of it becoming PNG’s premier recreational attraction inspiring in others the guardianship of PNG’s unique natural environment.
The Park has provided schools educational programmes to over 90,000 students, including World Wildlife Week, World Environment Week and Pasin Tumbuna Week.
