Pray in secret, don’t publicise it

Letters

POSTING of religious activities such as baptisms, crusades, celebrations, festivals, churchgoers attending divine services and other church activities on Facebook is now becoming popular. This practice is contrary to what Jesus Christ taught his followers in the Bible
Matthew 6: 6 it says, “But thou, when thou prayest, enter in thy closet, and when thou hast shut the door, pray to thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.’’ When we want to pray and praise God we should do it privately where no one can see us or hear what we say but only our Father in Heaven.
I want to make a general appeal to all the pastors and church leaders of all the denominations in PNG to please prohibit your congregations from posting religious activities on Facebook and make it a law so that your congregations will listen and obey what you command.
Aim for God’s praise, not man’s.
