Preserve Ela Beach for future generations

COMMON sense has finally prevailed on the sale of Era Kone (Ela Beach) to a private company.

It would have lost its natural looks and significant history if it was allowed to be developed and extended further into sea.

Port Moresby has already lost many of its public recreational spaces to unscrupulous business people with money and corrupt lands officers so it is time something is done to stop such dealings.

Our MP and Minister Justin Tkatchenko should be commended for fighting for his people of Moresby South electorate.

Leave our beach alone and plant trees like coconuts to beautify it.

The MP’s office and NCDC can employ full-time staff to monitor and keep it clean.

They can also be trained to keep watch on the beach goers and act as life guards.
