RETAIL prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene in Port Moresby have increased this month, the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission (ICCC) said yesterday.

Commissioner Dr Billy Manoka said the price of petrol increased by K0.13 to K3.73 per litre compared with K3.60 per litre last month.

He said diesel and kerosene prices also increased by 13 toea and 12 toea, respectively.

Diesel now sells for K3.29 per litre from K3.16 per liter and kerosene K3.20 per litre from K3.08, he said.

He said the increase in domestic fuel price was mainly due to the continuous depreciation of kina and increase in crude oil prices for September.

Manoka said retail fuel prices at designated centres would change according to their applicable in-country shipping and road freight rates charged by oil distributors for the third quarter of this year.
