LAHI Soccer Association’s Prima Power received a set of new uniforms from their sponsor ahead of tomorrow’s national club championships in Port Moresby.
The team have been the title holders over the last 17 years in the Lahi competition.
Prima Power have a decorated history, having won many Papua New Guinea Football Association-sanctioned tournaments like the Besta FA Cup, Wawens Cup, Morobe Soccer Festival Cup and this year’s Mamose club championships.
Prima Smallgoods national sales and marketing manager Kola Geri told The National that the company had been supporting the club for more than eight years.
“In many of the competitions and tournaments the team had competed in, they were undefeated that shows that they are serious about football,” Geri said.
‘We have seen that the club has been successful every season and most of their wins are by big margins. Most of these players are unemployed and our sponsorship is giving them an opportunity to showcase their talent.
“If some of them make the national side, it will be a success story for the club and Prima Smallgoods.”
“We wish the team all the best at the championships. We want them to perform well and impress the national selectors.”
Club president Gerard Obi said Prima Smallgoods had been very supportive over the years. He said this year was no different as the club look to take out the women’s championship as ambassadors of the company and region.
