A SCHOOL in Rigo, Central, with rundown facilities will get a new library to store its books.

This was made known to students and staff of Tauruba Primary School by the president of the Peace Foundation Melanesia, Celina Mokis when donating library books to the school.

She was responding to a request by the head student, headmaster and school’s board to build a school library.

She told them that she would ask the Rotary Foundation of Australia to build a library for them.

“I’m going to ask the Rotarians to build one for this school,”she said.

Board chairman Vemuru Laiwa said although the school was included in the national education plan, no development had been seen there in a long time.

“The tuition fee free subsidy is not sufficient to run the school. We use classroom and staff houses to store school materials,” he said.
