Prime Minister commended

Letters

We have witnessed so many changes and big events hosted in the country over the past decade since Prime Minister Peter O’Neill took office.
Every leader has his own style.
Both abroad and within, his Government upholds the reputation of this country.
I want to salute our prime minister for representing us on the global market.
He meets with powerful leaders of the world and assures them about PNG’s potential in mineral resources.
We have plenty to offer to the world.
Now we are at their door knocking.
Nothing is wrong with looking offshore.
Bringing investors in will create job opportunities.
However, there have been so many predictions about PNG LNG and yet, our economy has not been boosted.
Most of our tertiary graduates are without job.
If you leave your job today, it’s hard to find another within a year despite your experience.
Population is booming and jobs are scarce.
Our current situation brought my thoughts back to an island country which is an economic world power.
Japan did its maths and decided to equip its human resources before moving ahead.
America invented Ford.
Japan sent its human resources out for study.
They learnt the method of Ford and invented a band now called Toyota, which is one of the best models today.
This boosted the country as a whole.
In this scenario, there are two main things Japan did to boost its economy.
First, it looked into its human resources than it tap into its resources.
PNG needs to develop its human resources before looking offshore.
