WITH God’s guidance, the teachers of Badihagwa Secondary School have transformed students, principal Maru Bala says.
Bala said that when delivering the school’s report during the recent Grade 12 graduation with students and their parents last Thursday at the Holiday Inn in Port Moresby.
“The school’s vision statement has enabled us to teach the students without giving up despite certain issues,” Bala said.
He thanked the O’Neill government for supporting projects being carried out in most schools.
“All education curriculum systems are good but it is up to those who implement the systems in bringing out a better educated person,” he said.
The graduating students were advised to uphold what they had learnt and gained in their four years of secondary education when going out to further their studies.
Bala said the school had enrolled students from all suburbs in the capital city and others who transferred in from other provinces.
A minute’s silence was held during the graduation to pay respect to the school’s former head boy, Stanford Timothy, who died earlier this year.
Bala described the late Timothy as a student of good leadership who worked closely with teachers and students in addressing and resolving issues.
“This student had helped us a lot.
“And we will forever cherish him in our heart,” he said.
International Training Institute (ITI) representative Danny Mongai presented the ITI diploma scholarship to Charlie Wani.
Mongai said ITI would continue to work in partnership with schools in ensuring productive members of the society continue to further their studies.
