A SCHOOL principal is happy that Grade 10 students have prepared well for the national examination.
Gordon Secondary School principal George Wek Kenega said Grade 10 students went through remedial lessons at the beginning of Term Three during weekends. They continued through the holidays with mock exams.
“Normally students do very well with almost 99.9 per cent retaining spaces,” he said. “The top five per cent go to Port Moresby National High School while the rest continue at Gordon Secondary.”
He said only eight students missed out on spaces out of 380-plus student who sat last year.
“I believe the students will maintain (that) performance,” Kenega said.
Deputy principal academic Paul Kambu said 365 students were sitting for the exams this week. They started with Mathematics, followed by Personal Development, Social Science and Expressive Arts today, Science, Home Economics and Practical Skills tomorrow, Business Studies on Thursday and English on Friday.
A total of 66,450 students from 328 high and secondary schools will sit for the examinations nationwide.
