SCHOOL leavers must not give up on their dreams in education but know that there is a way out in terms of furthering their education, a school principal says.
Principal of Mapex Training Institute Mt Hagen campus Frank Okil said this during the graduation of more than 300 students yesterday.
The graduates received certificates in plant operation and motor vehicle repair.
Okil said Mapex had provided opportunities for training in technical skills for a large number of youths who had not been able to continue their education after high school.
“This institution does not receive any support from the government but it still has the vision and goal to help people,” he said.
Okil said many youths who missed out on continuing their education at tertiary institutions had a second chance with schools such as Mapex.
“There is always a light at the end and this is where Mapex is coming to create a better life for you,” he said.
“You need to be committed in what you do and set your priorities right so that can take you to the next stage.”
Mapex Mt Hagen campus chairman Joseph Paraka said this was the way forward for young men and women.
He told the graduates that education did not end and people needed to be positive about their future and make the most of their opportunities.
