GORDON market was closed on Wednesday after prison officers made a demand to the market authority for a suspect to be handed over.
Officer-in-charge of Minor Crimes at Gordon police station Senior Sergeant Apollos Terry said earlier a Correctional Service officer, who was at Gordon bus stop, was held up by some boys who stole K2700 from the officer.
“He came back again with a and made a demand to the market authority to apprehend the suspect and return the money,” he said.
That forced the main bus station to close and force the PMVs to relocate to Unagi Oval.
Terry said the officers had gone to Gordon police station, lodged their report and later went into the market and made their demands.
