Juvenile inmates at Bomana prison were reminded yesterday that their journey in life had just started towards a brighter future despite imprisonment.
The encouraging words from Joe Mesa of the National Youth Development Authority drew applause from more than 30 young men who sat through a week-long training on leadership at the juvenile compound.
“Prison is not your home. You will go back to your communities one day because your families and society need you.
“You have the potential to become future leaders.
“What we impart to you today, must be put into practice when you leave this place.”
Mesa, who facilitated the training, said the aim was to empower the young men to become good leaders in the future and make good decisions in life.
