MORE than 90 prisoners and prison officials completed a personal viability courseat at Bomana prison held by the Human Development Institute.
Prison Commandant Kiddy Keko said the participants were made up of inmates, correctional staff officials and their families.
“The three-week course focuses on giving second chances to those who wish to make a change in their lives,” he said.
“I have run a lot of programme but I am not satisfied.
“I want a programme that would make a change and I know this one has done a lot of changes.”
Keko encouraged the participants to never make the mistake of not trying because it is through trying that one can prosper.
“We want to make everybody successful after they pass out from here,” he said.
Keko also told the participants to put to good use what they have learnt.
“The only thing that will stand within you and your dream is the will to try and believe that it is actually possible,” he said.
He also thanked those who helped to make the course successful for the inmates and other participants.
The institute has taught students in Papua New Guinea and other countries for more than 20 years.
