Prize money to help winner look for a job

AFTER several unsuccessful attempts, Nick Nandoma, a father of two from Southern Highlands, finally won The National’s masthead competition.
“Thank you, at last,” Nandoma said upon seeing his name appear in yesterday’s edition.
Nandoma, who lives with his family at 9-Mile in Port Moresby, is unemployed. He said he would use the prize money (K250) for his bus fare to move around the city looking for a job.
He came to know about the competition as a regular reader of the paper and the win had encouraged him to continue entering the draw.
“This competition is a great initiative provided, especially to the readers,” Nandoma said.
He said he enjoyed reading and that The National was the only newspaper competition he had entered and he used to enter the NRL draw competition as well.
Nandoma was the first of the four weekly winners to claim his prize money at company’s office in Port Moresby.
