PRL chairman warns officials, players

THE Port Moresby Rugby League board will take a tougher stance against registered players and officials being involved in multiple competitions.
PRL board chairman Dr James Naipao and his deputies Wari Varage and Manu Lofena said they would start suspending players and officials after several warnings had gone unheeded.
“The players and referees who are registered with SP POMRL and also seen fit to take part in other leagues within the city and will be removed from the league,’ Naipao said.
“Once these people are identified, their names will be forwarded to the PNGRFL for them to take action.
“These individuals will also jepradise their chances for representative fixtures.
Naipao said players who were playing in more than one competition were only doing themselves a disservice because they were risking injury and fatigue.
Naipao added that it was also showed disrespect for the competitions and administrators.
Naipao said the PRL had already suspended several referees and he urged all stakeholders to be more responsible in their conduct.
