Probe K20mil SME admin component

Letters

THE National Executive Council should direct investigations into the use of K20 million set aside as administrative funds out of the much-publicised K200 million small to medium enterprise (SME) loan funds from the Government, which are currently administered by the Bank South Pacific (K100 million) and the National Development Bank (K80 million).
There is speculation that the big chunk of the K20 million administrative funds were used up during the hype of Covid-19 lockdown period.
The same action taken against the Department of Agriculture and Livestock should be taken against the Commerce and Industry Department to verify if funds were used for intended purposes by section 32 officers under the Public Finance Management Act.
