Producers urged to keep supply consistent

 THE PNG fresh producers have been urged to ensure consistent supply of fresh produce to their markets, an Australian based company says. 

Total Food Network (TFN) general manager Kris Gosper said the country’s fresh produce had the potential to be exported overseas. 

However, he highlighted certain issues that needed to be addressed internally first. 

“You can’t find a market and don’t service it,” Gosper said  during a fresh produce workshop themed Promoting local fresh produce by linking farmers to markets  

He said another factor which he highlighted was quality of fresh produce. 

“TFN currently service many sectors of the industry which include food, service, retail, and catering and would be happy to work with local producers to service current and future customers in the country,” he told local farmers and other stakeholders at the workshop yesterday.
