INFORMATION technology professionals exchanged ideas on networking and how to keep up with technological changes during a seminar in Port Moresby.

Daltron’s head of retail and marketing Ashwin Prasad said: “With the rapid change and hunger for technology being so big, we have to be on the move to keep up with the change.

“It is evident that the advance in technology over the years has enabled people to save time, keep them connected and also led to productivity.”

Students from IT institutions and the University of PNG attended the seminar. Four participants spoke on changing consumer trends in information technology, mobile telecommunications and advancements in technology and using mobile phones for development.

A senior official of a telecommunication company said the market was big enough for competition to take place.

He said with competition there was innovation.

Papua New Guinea Computer Society president Mick Nades said: “IT is also a body of its own and such seminars can lead to further development for IT knowledge and skills.”
