Promise yet to be fulfilled

Letters

ABOUT a year ago our good Prime Minister James Marape declared war against corruption, promising to make PNG the first rich black nation.
That remains to be seen.
There seem to be infighting between our political leaders and parties in the Government and Opposition.
Government ministers are all over the place doing their things.
The Pangu Pati-led government MPs are only there for the time being.
They will surely return and team up with their former political parties in the 2022 general election.
I see no front men to protect our prime minister apart from Gary Juffa (Northern Governor) and Allan Bird (East Sepik Governor).
Any prime minister should have the support of his ministers and senior members of his political party.
I was involved in making and breaking the government on the floor of parliament during my two terms as former member for Bulolo from 1992 to 2002.
I know what I am talking about leading up to the 2022 polls.
I suggest Marape consider setting up a special national consultative advisory body made up of senior bureaucrats and few retired politicians with both political and public service administrative experience.
They would guide him in managing this country and continue to remain in power and making his political dream become a reality.
Few of our country’s political leaders are only dreaming about becoming the prime minister, ministers and members of parliament to become rich overnight.
They forget the people’s struggle.
These politicians are just like you and me and we give them the name MP.
Members of parliament are elected to be the people’s servant to represent them in Parliament.
Not vice versa.
Let’s start praying for our God Almighty’s divine intervention to choose our next leaders in 2022 to stand and work together to save this country.
United we stand divided we fall.
