TERRY Wama, 43, from Ialibu, Southern Highlands, won the Nissan Patrol four-wheel drive vehicle valued at K180,000 at the end of a nine-week promotion by Stop and Shop.
Wama said he was excited as he had large family and this would help with school drop offs and other family runs.
“We didn’t think we were going to win,” Wama said.
“I bought a hamper at Stop and Shop Rainbow and we entered.”
Wama said he planned to ship the vehicle to Lae and then up to his village in Southern Highlands.
Stop and Shop marketing manager Regina Narakobi said the promotion started on July 22 and ended last Wednesday (Sept 16) to mark the country’s 45th independence anniversary.
Narakobi said Wama was among 12,000 other participants who bought the marked food hamper for K44.95 to enter the draw.
“Stop and Shop launched this hamper promotion with some of the brands that PNG households know and trust, to win a great Independence Day prize,” Narakobi said.
