Promote other sporting codes

Letters

IF you can access the internet, go to YouTube and watch Stanley Nandex, the Head Hunter, fight.
For those of us that love rugby, there are some sports where very few Papua New Guineans are talented in and represent the country but are not recognised by our Government.
Nandex once carried the PNG flag all around the world.
People in some of the countries he went to did not know that Papua New Guinea exists, they didn’t know where PNG was.
But because of people such as Nandex, the world came to recognise PNG and now they can locate PNG on the world map.
Instead of investing too much on rugby, the Government should focus on other sports where Papua New Guineans are good at.
It will take 100 years for PNG to beat Australia or New Zealand in rugby, but PNG has already produced champions in other sporting codes.

  • Work of the Sport Minister.
The sport Minister need to allow whatever sporting activities to take place to involve and identify each and everyone potential because not everyone is born to do one thing. We are born different to do different things.

  • Thank is a good suggestion. Millions of kina spend on rugby but yet no medal has been won.
