Madang tourism personality, Sir Peter Barter has released a new promotional video for Madang Resort and Kalibobo Village.
He said the video shows Madang and the new developments that have taken place over the past 24 months. It focuses on the facility’s upgraded services, rooms, conference facilities and the construction of the new five-star accommodation overlooking Dallman Passage.
In an email, Sir Peter who is the managing director of Melanesian Tourist Services in Madang said: “It was a hard decision to invest so much at a time when tourism numbers were down, but the fact remains we need to ensure that we, the company and our facilities compete with other destinations in offering world-class services which not only include the physical structures but the quality of our staff and services.
“Very few hotels in PNG offer diving, tennis, sightseeing cruises and tours, selection of pools, lagoons, barramundi pond, extended cruises of the Sepik River and offshore islands, conference facilities, gymnasium, kayaks, stand-up boards, sailing, fishing, snorkelling all within minutes of the resort’s marina.
“We are still hopeful that some of the smaller meetings for Apec will be held in Madang as it will not only benefit the Madang Resort, but other hotels in Madang and help improve our tourist image, which has been tarnished in recent times, and help rebuild the economy.”
