Proper drainage

Letters

I NOTE with interest and regularly observe the construction works undertaken for a proper drainage system within the corridors of 6-Mile clinic.
The drainage (creek) runs from 6-Mile industrial area through the clinic and down to Erima Bridge.
The drainage work is well constructed. However, the construction came to halt now for almost one and half months with approximately 50 metres of work done and another 100 metres or so go.
According to the general public and reliable source it is alleged the contract was awarded a good sum of money to complete the project.
The residents of the clinic, nearby residents and those work within the creek area were happy and expected a good job as the completion of the work would ease the pressure of flooding and overflows during the rain seasons.
It is people’s money for the people’s benefits and people need to know why it came a sudden stop.
The authorities’ concern need to explain the reasons for the abrupt stoppage of work and if it is corruption at its best again, please investigate and proper and appropriate remedial action unstable be taken.
Enough is enough we need affordable and proper services for our money’s worth through thousands of taxes we paid.
