WHILE most of the focus on sports countrywide has been about the big events and the big money, yesterday’s appreciation by the Airways Jets Darts Club of their sponsor, showed the true spirit of heartfelt thanks.
The club, now into the finals series of the NCD Darts competition, received competition shirts and a darts board from sponsors Propest Control Ltd, with open arms, after five months of competition since May.
Club president Madi Hekwa told The National at the presentation that he was very happy for the families and the young members of the team because the shirts will lift their spirits.
“The city tends to push people’s expectations of what they should have, but I am very happy that this show of support from Propest Control has clearly lifted the morale in our team, heading to the finals.
“I think they will really do their best now,” he said.
The club comprises three women and nine men, who make up the six singles, three doubles and two trebles of the team.
Propest Control Ltd head of sales and marketing Warasi Asiba, on behalf of the company, said he was happy that the assistance made a difference, and wished them all the best in the finals.
