Proposed project in Wewak gets K20,000
The National, Tuesday July 1st, 2014
WEWAK Rural Local Level Government president Francis Hevu has allocated K20,000 to support a proposed large scale agriculture integrated project at Passam in Wewak.
He gave the money to the people of Passam Two and Passam Three villages last Friday to assist with birth and Incorporated Land Group registrations.
The money was drawn from the Wewak District Service Improvement Programme in consultation with Wewak MP Jim Simatab and members of the Joint District Planning and Budget Priorities Committee.
“This money complements your effort in positioning yourself for further government assistance in developing the project,” Hevu said.
He urged the people from the resource area to work together and not criticise executives of the landowner company.
Landowner company Huicinco Investment Ltd chairman Benny Poroma thanked Hevu for assisting in securing the seed capital from the district.
He said 11 clans from the two Passam villages had already made available 56ha of land for cocoa, eagle wood and timber projects.
