THE Public Prosecutor has asked for an inquiry into allegations of misconduct by Member for Kikori and Minister for Inter-Government Relations, Mark Mapakai.
Pondros Kaluwin made the request yesterday, calling on Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia to appoint an appropriate leadership tribunal to conduct the inquiry.
In a statement, Kaluwin said the subject of referral were allegations of late submission of annual statements and failure to submit additional information as required under section 4 of the Organic Law on the Duties and Responsibilities of Leadership and allegations of an extra-marital affair.
Kaluwin said he had read the file and found there “is sufficient, cogent and credible evidence to refer the matter to an appropriate Leadership Tribunal”.
