Protect trucking companies

Letters

The government has to enforce laws with high penalties to protect trucking companies losing millions of kina worth of goods to opportunists along the Highlands Highway.
It needs to give special attention to those trucking companies along the highway because they pay huge amounts of money as taxes.
When a truck breaks down along the highway, opportunists are quick to loot the containers and damage the trucks by
removing parts without
realising how much it will cost the company to replace everything.
Most times the looting of containers happen in the presence of police. That is one of the biggest problems and portray a bad image.
We need laws that will directly frighten the looters like giving power to police to shoot to kill, raid and long-serving prison terms to discourage this crime.
