PLANS for Pukpuk coaching staff Allan Manning and Warren Jennings watch the East New Britain rugby union finals this month have been welcomed by the association and the six clubs.

ENBRFU president Tony Namur said it was a privilege to have the national coaches focus on East New Britain rugby.

He said the association was concentrating on development of local talents through the active staging of the under-15 and 19 competition.

He said establishment of a player base concept remains the paramount task for ENB rugby.

Namur said the idea was to attract players and gradually increase numbers  by having competitions in the different formats (7s, 10s or 15s).

Namur said the association is looking forward to the Coca-Cola 7s circuit scheduled for August 30-31 in Rabaul.

He said as the local 7s competition is nearing completion, interested teams for the 15s competition can contact him on 7328 6935 to participate.
