THE Western Highlands health sector is unconvinced by a K500 million commitment by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and Health Minister Michael Malabag.

This is because provincial health services and provincial hospitals around the country are still waiting to receive the Government’s much publicised free healthcare funding.

The National Government has allocated K300 million to fund free health services under the 2013 National Budget.

Senior health officers and practitioners in the province said only three months remained before the close of government accounts for this year and most provinces were still waiting to receive the funds.
