EAST New Britain has paid tribute to 13 retiring senior public servants for their service to the province.

Acting provincial administrator Wilson Matava told them at a farewell function in Kokopo that they should be proud of their contribution to the province and nation.

The 13 are: Allan Pinia, Bernadette Kilepak, Cora Maragau, Domitila Kalago, John Danny, Mellie Gulua, Nicholas Pirpir, Nicholas Tain, Nicholas Valingana, Peter Buak, Peter Luluai, Sioni Faiva and Theresia Likun.

“Most of you are above the age of 60 and have developed cultures, shaped the young and upcoming officers along the way, displayed leadership and a lot of standard. And these are some of the things that we should continue in the workforce,” Matava said.

“We should continue to work on ethics, principles and discipline in terms of public service and I want to say thank you for your roles in the public service.

“Some of you have put a lot of wisdom into discussions of policy papers.”

He said the services provided by the 13 filtered right from the executive management level down to the service delivery point.
