CHIMBU Governor Michael Dua says he wants to work with charity organisations to improve the education sector in the province.
Dua made the comment when receiving a donation of two 20-foot containers of school furniture.
The materials were presented by country manager of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pacific Assist Eddie Alembo.
Dua said the organisation sourced the materials in Australia and organised the freight from Australia to Papua New Guinea.
The Simbu government organised storage and freight from Lae, Morobe to the province and distribution to schools.
“Basic school materials and learning infrastructures are an important component that ensures the complete learning experience,” Dua said.
“Therefore education remains a cornerstone for human resource development and as such also remains my priority.”
