FIVE provinces in the Southern region will be presenting their budget reports in a two-day workshop in Port Moresby this week.
There will be important discussions on the use of budgets, the activities involved and issues affecting service delivery within the respective provinces.
The National Economic and Fiscal Commission chairman and chief executive officer Hohora Suve said that the results on the provincial expenditure trends for 2014 will be released by the National Economic and Fiscal Commission at the workshop.
Suve said the theme of the workshop was called game changer and it is aimed at bringing together key service delivery sectors in the provincial administrations to work together.
The Department of Treasury, will present an update of  the 2016 budget performances and government priorities, Finance to give an account of the public financial management system,  Provincial and Local Government Affairs to  deliberate on the implementation of district development authority.
The Education Department will be expected to provide an update on the tuition fee free policy implementation and the Health Department will speak on the health accounting system while the Department of National Planning and Monitoring will present on the national planning framework.
Suve said we are also expecting interesting discussions when the National Economic and Fiscal Commission will present an update on Reform of Intergovernmental Financing Arrangements in Papua New Guinea.
