TREASURER Patrick Pruaitch has assured MPs that K4 million for capacity building in the 89 districts are intact and will be paid out to districts before end of year.
Mr Pruaitch also appealed to all the 89 MPs to return to their electorates to implement the district service improvement programme (DSIP) funds of K10 million.
He said since this government came into office, it had appropriated funding for rural districts where the majority of the people are living.
The Finance and Treasury Minister was responding to questions from Telefomin MP Peter Iwei that of the K10 million allocated under DSIP, K4 million for capacity building had not been released.
“When will that K4 million be released?” Mr Iwei asked.
Mr Pruaitch said the K4 million for capacity building was still there.
