THE Public Servants Netball Competition will have its knock-out matches this Saturday at the Rita Flynn outdoor courts.

PSNC president Davera Guru said this weekend’s matches would feature top four teams from division one to eight doing battle to who comes out the best among them.

She said in the premier division Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee who is the minor premiers will stand by for the grand final with reigning champions Department of Works.

Works will have to play very hard to defend their title against PNGOC while MedComm will play against National Fisheries Authority in the play-off.

Davera said it has been a great competition so far compared to the ones in the past because they are using the new Rita Flynn Courts facilities.

The president said there were still some teams who were not complying with the rules of the competition one of which is to to provide identification cards for the players, that is the staff, their dependents and spouses.

“ID cards are the only hiccup we are facing which has affected most teams. It has been an ongoing issue in the competition so we have decided to be strict this time and have penalised teams who have not provided their ID’s but apart from that, registration so far has been good and I urge those teams who have not paid their fees to pay up,” she said.

The semi-finals will be played next weekend while the grand final is set for Feb 27.
