PORT Moresby Soccer Association competition leaders PS Rutz played out a goalless draw with Genesis in yesterday’s men’s premier fixture at the Bisini Soccer Ground.
Sixth-placed Genesis, under the guidance of former Papua New Guinea representative Andrew Lepani, were able to devise a game plan to keep PS Rutz at bay.
PS Rutz, with David Mosim, Michael Saun and Stanley Tumun, controlled the match but were unable to breach the Genesis defence.
Both sides had their fair share of scoring chances but were unable to break the deadlock.
Meanwhile, Lahai William scored late goal to help Seeadler beat fellow competition newcomers Leilam 1-0.
On Saturday, University Inter continue their form with a 2-1 win over Momase.
The second match on Saturday saw defending and national club champions Mungkas defeat Maclarens 4-2.
With their superior speed and ball control, Mungkas dominated the game with goals from July Elijah, Eaka Philemon, Moses Arisib and Basil Jofari. Maclarens were on target late in the match, with Tau Winnie and Vera Vavine finding the net to put some respectability back in the scoreline.
