PS United want PNGFA to clear management issues

PS United Football Club did not submit an expression of interest to be part of the 2018 National Soccer League competition citing poor management of last year’s competition.
Chairman Paul Komboi yesterday clarified that PS United would only put up a team if the PNG Football Association cleared the mismanaged issues from last year.
“That is why PS is hesitant to put up a team because of the running of the competition from last year.
“These things need to be cleared and ironed out before the new competition starts.
“We need to know the prize money. How much was paid out last year?”
He said PNGFA must come out publicly to announce the requirements that were expected, the schedule and how the competition would be run so soccer followers and club supporters would know what was at stake for the clubs they followed.
“PS has no issue in putting up a team, but we will only do that if the issue of poor management is addressed before the new season starts,” Komboi said.
He said to be transparent, these must be made public. Otherwise the same issues of poor management will creep into the running of this year’s competition.
Last season, PS pulled out of the semi-finals mentioning poor management as its reason for doing so.
“We do not want the same thing like last year to happen again.”
