Public forums

Letters

I SUGGEST that Western holds quarterly forums in different locations at different times.
Through this event, we will be able to hear from different people expressing their thoughts and raising concerns and problems their LLGs and districts face.
This will also help to identify problems and collect information through the ideas contributed by different people.
The process of classifying people – educated, uneducated, leader, not leader, young, old, women, men, and students – has caused inequality in society because it denies individuals the chance to speak their mind on matters that concern personally or as a community.
So far the decisions being made have been biased.
Only the leaders and people at the top make decisions and those decisions are based on their thoughts with the views of everyone else neglected or ignored.
The forum will allow everyone to participate and give people a chance to express their views.
I believe that an event like this can help the province plan for things that are important to the people.
A committee should be formed to organise the forum, and once the purpose and objectives have been identified, the committee should hand the planning over to someone else.
A sub-committee, a member of the committee or an outside consultant from the province might take over the planning.
If the forums are very large or especially complex, then it could be handed over to a public relations expert who should also be a part of the committee.
