Public losing faith in Opp

Letters, Normal

THE recent past has seen the Opposition siding to pass a law to increase the allowances of MPs by 100% when poor public servants did not even get a 1% increase in their allowances despite continuous strikes.
Now they have joined the Government to pass a bill to remove powers from the Ombudsman Commission, the only surviving watchdog over corrupt MPs.
Sam Basil claimed the Opposition was misled by Moses Maladina and then had to apologise the next day to Mr Maladina.
This is childish act from a leader.
I would have abstained from voting.
The public has lost confidence in the Government and it is fast losing confidence in the Opposition.
If only the public were allowed to go to Parliament and move a vote of no-confidence against the Opposition.
