Public servants need to know

Letters

THE Treasury and Finance departments need to tell the public servants who exited up to June this year when they will be paid the State’s overdue contribution to their superannuation.
It was reported that the Treasurer announced that all arrears will be settled to allow for a clean slate next year. As a former public servant, I am totally disappointed for all the runaround made at the Nambawan Super counter just to be told to check with the Treasury and Finance departments.
I sacrificed our entire life and personal resources to serve the independent state of Papua New Guinea and I feel let-down by the Government and those who control budget disbursements.
Many of us forgo allowances and make do with the little salary we have to represent PNG within and abroad, but we are suffering while the new culture of so-called allowances is compromising the patriotic interest of PNG.
I sincerely beg those in authority to do the right thing and ease the pain and suffering of exited public servants.
