Public step in, arrest suspect

A MAN allegedly ran amok stabbing and injuring several people before killing a man beneath the Kukaburra Fly Over at Erima in Port Moresby yesterday, police say.
Police, in a statement, said the man was immediately subdued by the public, disarmed and handed over to police around 8am.
Acting National Capital District Met Supt Nelson Chanei thanked the community at Erima for apprehending the suspect.
He appealed to relatives of the wounded and deceased to refrain from retaliating.
Supt Chanei said police would investigate the case and refer the suspect to health authorities to confirm his mental condition.
