Business

PUMA Energy Ltd opened its mini depot at Gusap, Morobe, on Friday to supply customers in the Ramu area with Puma Gas. LPG sales manager for Mamose and the Highlands David Sikat, speaking the opening of the Ramu mini-depot, said this (the opening) signified another business partnership Puma Energy had with other companies and individuals in the area. “By opening this depot, we are also supporting small to medium enterprises (SME) here as this depot will be operated and run by a person who is operating as an SME business partner with us,” he said. Sikat said customers in Ramu included Ramu Agri Industries and other business houses in the area as well as walk-in customers. Puma Energy national marketing manager for Puma Gas, Gabriel Laka, said their gas was 100 per cent PNG made and having it distributed nationwide was promoting locally-produced products, supporting SMEs and creating wealth for people. “We have covered all corners of the country and in doing so we engage with people dealing with SME and that creates employment for our people,” Laka said. The Ramu mini-depot will be run and operated by Madang Energy Distributors Ltd (MEDL), a SME business group which was established in 2017 by Max Kitao. This comes after New Britain Palm Oil Ltd signed a two-year contract with Puma Energy to supply gas to all its branches and setups in West New Britain, New Ireland, Northern, Milne Bay and Ramu in Madang.
