FINANCE and Rural Development Minister Sir John Pundari has thanked outgoing Paradise Foods Ltd chief executive officer James Rice for his immense contributions to the country.
“I was deeply moved by the kind words of Rice, the CEO of Paradise Foods.
“He says he will remain an advocate of Papua New Guinea in the United States.
“These words reflect a kind soul and a genuine human being, someone we are sad to see leave our shores,” Sir John said.
“One of his many achievements was to build the Queen Emma Chocolate Factory in Lae which created jobs and income for cocoa farmers in the region.
“He is a charismatic CEO of one of our leading manufacturers.
“I am sure his employees and those he worked with have been blessed by their interactions with him.”
Rice, from Los Angeles, USA, is leaving the country next month to be with his family who he has not been able to visit for some time because of the Covid-19 travel restrictions. Sir John thanked Rice for his words of praise and encouragement for the people and the country.
